St. Thomas has many attributes - our beautiful campus, small class sizes, professors engaged in student learning - that make us an excellent choice for the completion of your university studies. And we value transfer students as they add diversity to the classroom experience and to our wider community.

You are considered a transfer student if you have graduated from high school and have earned credit from another post-secondary institution from which St. Thomas recognizes transfer credit. You are also a transfer student if you began your studies here, transferred to another university, and now wish to return to St. Thomas.

Our admission process will provide you with timely responses and transfer credit evaluations. The Frequently Asked Questions section below should answer questions you may have about transferring to St. Thomas.

Frequently Asked Questions


1. Am I a transfer student?

Any student who has completed post-secondary (most commonly university) course work for which they are eligible to receive transfer credit are considered transfer students. You are also a transfer student if you began your studies here, transferred to another university, and now wish to return to St. Thomas. If you have not attended a post-secondary institution after high school graduation and are less than 21 years of age, you would be considered as a first year, high school applicant.  

2. When do I apply to transfer?

Transfer students may apply for the September session beginning in January of the year in which they wish to attend St. Thomas. Applicants who wish to transfer for the January session, should apply by early December.

3. How do I apply as a transfer student?

Transfer applicants must submit an application (available at ). There is a $55.00 CAD (or $40 for New Brunswick residents) application fee which can be paid online by credit card, by cheque (payable to 91短视频版在线观看入口), or by credit card.

4. If I've applied to St. Thomas in the past, but attended another university, do I need to reapply?

Yes.

5. What documents do I need to provide?

Transfer applicants must make arrangements for an official copy of their transcript(s) from any post-secondary institution they have attended or are currently attending to be sent directly to the Admissions Office.

Transfer students who are in the first term of their university studies and who wish to transfer for the January session of their first year, should also provide a final high school transcript. (Please note that course descriptions may be required to complete a transfer credit evaluation. We will request this information if it is required).

6. When will I hear back from St. Thomas regarding my admission?

The Admissions Office will review your academic performance at the institution from which you are transferring once your transcript(s) has been received. If you are in good academic standing, you will receive a conditional acceptance within about one week of your file becoming complete. Based on academic performance, if we are unable to accept you conditionally, we will defer the decision until we see your final grades. Once we have received your final transcript, you should hear from us within about one week's time.

7. When will I receive my transfer credit evaluation?

Transfer credit evaluations are completed as soon as we receive your final transcript from the university you are currently attended/have attended and your final admission has been approved. Normally, it takes about 7 to 10 days to complete the assessment. Once you have been granted final acceptance and your transfer credit assessment has been completed, you are eligible to register online for courses.

8. Are transfer students eligible for scholarships?

Transfer students are not eligible for scholarships at the time they enter 91短视频版在线观看入口. They can, however, be considered for scholarships-in-course after completing 30 credit hours of St. Thomas course work within the regular academic year (September to April). Applicants apply for scholarships-in-course at the Registrar's Office each April.

9. Can transfer students apply for residence?

Yes. If you are interested in applying for residence, please complete the Residence Application form found under the "Next Steps" tab on your applicant portal once you've been accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I reapply?

Returning applicants must submit an application (available at ). If you've attended another university since leaving St. Thomas, you are considered a transfer student and can find application information at Transfer Students.

There is a $55.00 CAD (or $40 for New Brunswick residents) application fee which can be paid online by credit card.

2. Do my St. Thomas liberal arts credits still count?


Yes. At St. Thomas we have no time limit after which courses no longer count for credit towards the degree program. What could be influenced by time is the specific course requirements for a major or program. An academic advisor will review any changes with you.

3. What if I left St. Thomas due to academic difficulties?

If you left on academic probation, you are not required to take time off from your university studies but you will need to provide a 1-2 page typed letter explaining the reasons for your academic difficulties and why you are ready to resume your studies.

If you were required to withdraw from St. Thomas, you can be considered for re-admission 12 months from the time of your dismissal. Please include with your application, a 1-2 page typed letter explaining the reasons for your past academic performance and why you are likely to be successful if readmitted to university.

Applicants 60 Years and Older 

91短视频版在线观看入口 welcomes students of all ages and from all backgrounds. Seniors (60+) who are first-time university students or returning after a break from post-secondary education are invited to apply to the university to pursue a degree or simply to take individual courses. Applicants may also consider simply auditing a course. To audit a course is to attend without being required to complete tests and assignments. There are further discounts for this option.

Discounted Tuition 

Applicants who have reached the age of sixty years are eligible to apply for a rebate of 50% of normal tuition fees.
